Vintage WWII U.S. Army Corporal USA Sterling Military Lapel Pin EKco Articulated Chevron Insignia
WWII-era gold-tone sterling military pin with raised USA lettering, suspended two-stripe corporal rank chevrons, EKco maker mark and original pinback.
$64.00
This vintage WWII U.S. Army military lapel pin combines bold USA lettering with an articulated two-stripe corporal chevron suspended from two short chains. The movable rank device gives the small pin unusual dimension and character while clearly incorporating the insignia of a U.S. Army corporal. Specialist militaria references catalog closely comparable sterling USA-and-chevron pieces as WWII military or patriotic lapel pins rather than regulation rank insignia.
Measuring approximately 1 inch by 1 inch, the pin is constructed in sterling silver with a warm gold-tone finish. The reverse is marked “STER [EKco maker mark] LING” and retains its original horizontal pin stem and rollover safety catch. The two-stripe chevron hangs freely from its original chain links. The gold-tone surface shows light wear and mellow age-related patina, while the articulated components remain secure. No repairs or modern alterations were observed.
This is best understood as privately purchased WWII military/patriotic jewelry incorporating the wearer's corporal rank rather than regulation Army corporal insignia; enlisted Army rank during WWII was represented by cloth chevrons worn on the sleeves. Its sterling construction, EKco marking, articulated corporal chevrons and distinctive USA design give it strong appeal to collectors of WWII U.S. Army insignia, vintage military pins, sterling military jewelry and American wartime memorabilia.
