Vintage Root Beer Prystal Bakelite Bangle Bracelet Smoky Black Inclusion Translucent Amber Simichrome Tested Chunky Domed Art Deco Jewelry
Rare suspended black smoke inclusions create a dramatic molten effect within glowing translucent phenolic resin, making this substantial collector bangle ideal for vintage plastics enthusiasts, bracelet stacks, and Art Deco jewelry collections.
$210.00
Some vintage Bakelite bracelets are prized for bold carving, others for dramatic marbling. This authentic Prystal example stands apart because of its remarkable suspended black inclusions that appear to drift through the glowing translucent resin like wisps of smoke trapped inside warm amber. The effect is organic, almost molten, and changes constantly as the bracelet turns in the light. Although Simichrome does not produce a reaction on this example, its unmistakable phenolic construction, internal glow, weight, and visual characteristics are entirely consistent with genuine vintage Prystal Bakelite.
Rather than traditional swirled marbling, this bracelet displays concentrated smoky inclusions that stretch into delicate feathered ribbons across portions of the bangle while leaving other areas brilliantly transparent. Outdoors, the body glows in rich root beer, cognac, amber, and honey tones, while indoors it deepens into the warm tobacco coloration collectors associate with fine translucent Bakelite. The clean rounded profile allows the extraordinary material itself to become the centerpiece.
The bracelet measures approximately 3 inches in outside diameter with a 2 9/16-inch inside opening. The band measures approximately 11/16 inch wide with a 3/16-inch wall thickness, giving it substantial presence whether worn alone or stacked with other vintage Bakelite bracelets. Light vintage wear consistent with careful age and use is present but does not detract from its outstanding display or wearability.
Collectors actively seek unusual Prystal examples with distinctive internal patterns, and this bracelet offers a combination of exceptional translucency, dramatic smoke-like inclusions, and classic Art Deco styling that is considerably less common than standard marbled or solid-color Bakelite bangles.
