Vintage NS Meyer Senior Missile Badge 1/20 Silver Filled Cold War U.S. Air Force Missileman Insignia

Vintage Cold War-era U.S. Air Force Senior Missile Badge manufactured by N.S. Meyer, Inc. of New York, one of the most respected producers of American military insignia. Commonly known among collectors as the "Missile Man" badge, this distinctive insignia features the iconic missile surmounted by a five-point star, denoting the Senior qualification level earned by personnel serving in the United States' strategic missile program during the height of the Cold War. These badges represent an important chapter in American military and aerospace history and remain highly sought after by collectors of Air Force and missile program memorabilia.

Measuring approximately 2 inches long, the badge retains exceptionally crisp die-struck detail throughout the missile, star, recessed stars, and finely textured background. The sharp relief, clean lines, and well-defined edges remain remarkably strong despite honest age-related wear, reflecting the superior craftsmanship associated with N.S. Meyer military insignia. The reverse is clearly marked "1/20 SIL. FLL." above the "N.S. Meyer, Inc. Both original clutch posts remain intact, although the clutch backs are no longer present.

Only traces of the original white finish remain in a few protected recessed areas, while most of the finish has naturally worn away through decades of age and use. The resulting silver patina beautifully emphasizes the badge's exceptionally sharp strike and sculptural design. The insignia has not been polished, preserving its authentic period character. No repairs or modern alterations are noted, and the overall presentation is excellent for an original Cold War-era military badge.
