Exceptional original Lady Washington Pearls button card featuring three unused genuine mother-of-pearl buttons beautifully cut from freshwater mussel shell and preserved exactly as they were sold. Manufactured in Washington, Iowa, by the American Pearl Button Company, these authentic shell buttons were fashioned from Mississippi River freshwater shells, then carefully cut, drilled, shaped, and polished to reveal the remarkable iridescent nacre that made American shell buttons the preferred choice of dressmakers for decades. Their bold geometric silhouette reflects the clean, modern styling of the Art Deco period while allowing the natural beauty of genuine mother-of-pearl to remain the focal point.

Each button measures approximately 22 mm (about 7/8 inch) and features a classic two-hole sew-through construction.
