Handcrafted sterling silver feather cuff accented with an elegant gold-filled bow and signed with a single "V" hallmark.
$289.00
Graceful, symbolic, and beautifully handcrafted, this vintage Native American sterling silver feather cuff bracelet showcases the timeless artistry of Southwestern silversmithing. A deeply hand-engraved feather wraps naturally around the wrist while an elegant gold-filled bow binds the quill, creating a striking two-tone contrast between warm gold and richly patinated sterling silver. The sculptural design, crisp engraved feather details, and refined mixed-metal construction give the bracelet an understated elegance that is equally suited for everyday wear or a distinguished Native American jewelry collection.
Feathers hold deep cultural significance throughout many Native American traditions, where they are widely recognized as symbols of honor, respect, courage, strength, and a spiritual connection to the Creator and the natural world. Whether appreciated for its symbolism, artistry, or exceptional craftsmanship, this bracelet beautifully captures one of the most enduring motifs in Native American jewelry. The carefully engraved feather barbs, flowing contours, polished edges, and graceful gold-filled accent demonstrate the skilled handwork that distinguishes quality handcrafted Southwestern silver.
The cuff measures approximately 2 5/16 inches across the interior and 13/16 inch wide at its broadest point, offering substantial wrist presence while remaining comfortable for everyday wear. The interior is stamped "GF Sterling" together with a single "V" hallmark. Extensive research was conducted through published and online Native American hallmark references. While the mark most closely resembles examples attributed to artists including Verdy Jake, Robert Vancouver, and Vivian Jones, existing hallmark references remain incomplete and similar single-letter marks were used by multiple Southwestern silversmiths. For that reason, the bracelet is offered as signed with an unidentified "V" hallmark rather than attributed to a specific maker.
The bracelet remains in very good vintage condition with light surface wear consistent with careful use over the years. It has been left unpolished, preserving a rich natural patina that beautifully emphasizes the engraved feather details while complementing the mellow vintage glow of the gold-filled bow. The silver retains its crisp hand-worked character, and the bracelet presents beautifully both on display and when worn.
Acquired directly from my family's collection, this exceptional cuff will appeal to collectors of Native American jewelry, Southwestern sterling silver, handcrafted feather bracelets, mixed-metal artisan jewelry, vintage silver cuffs, and meaningful wearable art. Its graceful proportions, detailed hand engraving, warm gold-filled accents, and timeless feather motif make it a beautiful example of classic Southwestern craftsmanship that will be appreciated for generations to come.
