Bold contrast and sculptural simplicity define these vintage Mexican sterling silver cufflinks. Measuring approximately 7/8 inch in diameter, each cufflink features a striking circular design divided between a highly polished lower half and an oxidized upper section accented by raised sterling beads. The combination creates exceptional depth while showcasing the clean geometric styling that made Mexican Modernist jewelry so distinctive during the Mid-Century period.
The cufflinks are marked Hecho en Mexico, 925, and bearing the JGG workshop hallmark, with STERLING also stamped on the reverse of the posts. Although the workshop represented by the JGG mark has not been definitively identified, the quality of the silverwork and balanced Modernist design reflect the craftsmanship for which vintage Mexican sterling jewelry is widely admired. Their understated monochromatic palette allows the sculptural surface treatment to become the focal point, making them equally appropriate with business attire or formal evening wear.
The cufflinks remain in very good vintage condition with light, age-appropriate surface wear consistent with careful ownership. The oxidized finish remains well defined, the polished surfaces retain an attractive luster, and both swivel mechanisms operate properly. An excellent addition for collectors of vintage Mexican silver, Modernist jewelry, Mid-Century men's accessories, or distinctive sterling cufflinks.
