$16.00

An iconic piece of mid-century American advertising history, this vintage H.J. Heinz pickle pin dates to approximately the 1950s to early 1960s and represents one of the plastic generations of the company's famous pickle advertising premiums. Molded in bright green plastic, the dimensional figural cucumber features large raised HEINZ lettering surrounded by molded bumps and textured details that give this miniature pickle its wonderfully recognizable character.

This vintage advertising pin retains its original simple safety-pin-style metal closure on the reverse, a construction found on mid-century Heinz promotional pickle pins and distinctly different from the primitive wire fittings used on much earlier gutta-percha examples. The precise composition of the plastic has not been identified, so it is accurately described as molded plastic rather than specifically as Lucite. The pickle itself measures approximately 1 1/4 inches long by 3/5 inch wide, excluding the projecting pin hardware.

The pin remains in good vintage condition with age-appropriate surface and finish wear visible upon close examination. Its vivid green color, prominent raised HEINZ logo and dimensional pickle form retain excellent visual character. A fun and highly recognizable piece of H.J. Heinz memorabilia for collectors of vintage advertising, food advertising collectibles, promotional premiums, mid-century Americana, figural brooches and novelty advertising jewelry.
