Vintage Hand Made Hammered Copper Bowl Early Mid 20th Century Arts and Crafts Metalware

Extensive hand hammering and a beautifully irregular surface give this vintage copper bowl the character of early to mid-20th-century hand-wrought metalwork. Formed from copper with individually worked hammer impressions across the interior, exterior and underside, the shallow bowl has an organic pebbled texture and subtly uneven hand-formed rim that distinguish it from uniformly machine-finished copperware. Its restrained form and emphasis on visible craftsmanship reflect the enduring influence of the American Arts and Crafts tradition, while remaining compatible with later mid-century artisan metalwork and rustic modern interiors.

The underside retains a partially struck or partially worn maker's stamp, but not enough of the original mark survives to identify the maker responsibly. Visible portions appear to include the ending “…FER'S,” along with portions of additional wording including “MADE” and “...PPER,” likely from COPPER. Because the complete name cannot presently be established, the piece is accurately offered as an unidentified maker rather than assigning an unsupported attribution. The copper retains a warm aged surface with scattered oxidation, spotting and signs of previous use consistent with its vintage history, as shown in the photographs.
