$89.95
Exceptional American art pottery craftsmanship and Gonder Ceramic Arts' celebrated Mother of Pearl Lustre finish combine to create this striking vintage H-77 vase. Sculpted ivy vines and gracefully modeled leaves flow organically around the body before rising into elegant double scroll handles, giving the piece the flowing, naturalistic character associated with Art Nouveau-inspired design. As light moves across the iridescent Mother of Pearl Lustre finish, subtle flashes of soft pastel color emerge, beautifully complementing the warm shell-pink interior and creating a display piece that is equally captivating with or without flowers.
Founded in Ohio during the early twentieth century, Gonder Ceramic Arts earned a reputation for producing high-quality American art pottery distinguished by sculptural forms and richly decorative finishes. Their Mother of Pearl Lustre finish remains one of the company's most admired and collectible decorative treatments, prized for its delicate iridescence, luminous depth, and elegant presentation. This example is marked with the Gonder script hallmark and shape number H-77 on the underside and measures approximately 8½ inches tall, 7½ inches across the handles, and 5 inches in rim diameter.
Careful inspection found no chips, cracks, or repairs. Light age-related crazing is present only on the base. Three tiny factory kiln pores, fully covered by the original finish, are visible inside the vase and represent normal manufacturing characteristics rather than damage. The iridescent Mother of Pearl Lustre finish remains beautifully preserved, while the glossy shell-pink interior retains its original appearance. A wonderful example of vintage Gonder Ceramic Arts, this vase will appeal to collectors of Gonder pottery, Ohio art pottery, American ceramics, Art Nouveau décor, iridescent pottery, and finely sculpted floral and botanical designs.
