Known to Bakelite collectors as Blue Moon and sometimes Green Spinach, this vintage bangle is distinguished by an extraordinary medley of greens shot through with blue and golden color. Chartreuse, emerald, olive and yellow mingle with cooler teal-blue passages, creating irregular mottling that changes dramatically from one section of the bracelet to the next. Simichrome tested to confirm authenticity, it is a particularly colorful example of this sought-after Bakelite variety.

Its broad 3/4-inch band has a smoothly domed contour that gives the dense variegated pattern plenty of uninterrupted surface area. Viewed from different angles, individual colors emerge and recede: vivid yellow-green areas give way to darker spinach tones, while unexpected blue streaks and patches punctuate the warmer palette. The bracelet measures approximately 3 inches outside diameter with a 2 1/2-inch inside diameter.

Condition is very good vintage, retaining an attractive sheen with only light surface wear consistent with age and careful use. The remarkable range of color makes this Blue Moon bangle especially compelling from every angle, whether displayed in a Bakelite collection, worn by itself, or combined with solid-color bracelets that draw out its individual green, blue and golden tones.
