Vintage Abingdon Pottery 564 Peach Console Bowl Ruffled Scalloped Art Pottery 1940s

Sculptural curves and a warm peach glaze give this vintage Abingdon Pottery #564 console bowl wonderful presence. Produced during Abingdon's American art pottery era, the low oval form is distinguished by a deeply undulating scalloped rim that creates a graceful wave around the entire bowl. Documented examples of shape #564 date to approximately the 1940s, making this an appealing piece of period American decorative pottery for Abingdon collectors as well as Art Deco and early Mid Century interiors.

Measuring approximately 10¾ inches long by 7 inches wide, the bowl has enough scale to work beautifully as a console or centerpiece bowl while retaining the sleek, low profile characteristic of the form. Its soft peach-to-tan glaze and fluid silhouette lend themselves to a variety of uses, including a flower arrangement or flower frog vessel, dresser bowl, mantel accent, table centerpiece, or standalone display piece. The underside retains the original rectangular “ABINGDON U.S.A.” ink stamp.
