$49.00
Beautiful natural wood grain takes center stage in this unusual vintage men's jewelry set, featuring a matching pair of cufflinks and coordinating tie bar. Each piece is fashioned with an individually shaped wood face displaying dramatic dark figuring and richly varied grain beneath a warm amber-toned glossy finish. The natural patterns create the striking decorative effect seen across the surfaces—nothing has been painted or burned into the wood.
Because the figuring is created entirely by the natural character of the wood, each piece is unique. The oval cufflinks coordinate beautifully while displaying their own individual grain patterns, and the elongated wood face of the matching tie bar continues the same distinctive organic aesthetic. The shaping, finishing, and careful selection of the figured wood give the set an appealing handcrafted character and make it far more distinctive than conventional mass-produced men's accessories.
The cufflinks each measure approximately 1 1/4 inches long by 3/4 inch wide and are fitted with vintage gold tone bar-style toggle backs. The coordinating tie bar measures approximately 2 inches long by 3/4 inch wide and retains its metal clip mechanism on the reverse.
Based on the style and construction of the metal findings and the overall design, the set is believed to date approximately to the 1930s–1940s, although no maker's mark is visible and an exact production date cannot be confirmed. The combination of natural wood, simple period hardware, and understated organic styling gives the set a timeless quality that remains remarkably wearable today.
The set remains in vintage condition with age-related surface wear and small imperfections visible along portions of the wood and finish, along with expected patina and wear to the metal hardware. The natural variations in color and grain are inherent characteristics of the wood rather than applied decoration. Please review all photographs closely for the current condition and the individual grain patterns of each piece.
An uncommon coordinated set for collectors of early vintage cufflinks, antique men's accessories, natural wood jewelry, and artisan-style accessories, these figured wood cufflinks and matching tie bar combine one-of-a-kind organic patterning with understated vintage craftsmanship and distinctive period character.
