Alfred Philippe Crown Trifari 1949 Dewdrops Sterling Necklace Moonstone Glass Pat Pend

Rare early designer floral jewelry with molded glass Dew Drop flowers, sparkling clear rhinestone pavé accents, articulated silver tone construction and original sterling clasp, collectible Trifari estate statement piece

$825.00

A highly collectible early Alfred Philippe design for Crown Trifari, this striking 1949 Dewdrops necklace showcases the dimensional molded moonstone glass flowers associated with Trifari's celebrated Dewdrops collection. Luminous frosted glass petals form a dramatic graduated floral arrangement across the neckline, accented by brilliant clear rhinestones set throughout the sculptural foliage and flower centers. The combination of translucent moonstone glass, sparkling pavé rhinestones and articulated construction creates the distinctive light-catching effect that gave the Dewdrops designs their name. Documented examples from this Alfred Philippe collection identify these characteristic dimensional elements as molded moonstone glass flowers.

The reverse of the decorative section is clearly signed CROWN TRIFARI and PAT. PEND., while the original clasp is separately marked STERLING. These important early markings distinguish the necklace from later Trifari production and are consistent with the collectible Alfred Philippe period. The necklace measures approximately 16 inches overall, with approximately 14.5 inches from the clasp to the beginning of the decorative stonework. Its articulated construction allows the elaborate floral centerpiece to follow the neckline while preserving the dimensional arrangement of the individual Dewdrop flowers and rhinestone-set elements. Crown Trifari and patent-pending markings predate the company's use of the copyright symbol beginning in 1955.

The necklace is complete, with no missing stones or decorative components observed. It has been intentionally left completely uncleaned and unpolished in its as-found estate condition, preserving the original surfaces, aged finish and components. Some accumulated dirt is visible on several of the moonstone glass flowers, rhinestones and settings, consistent with age and previous wear; no attempt has been made to clean or alter them. An exceptional collector piece for those seeking Alfred Philippe jewelry, Crown Trifari Dewdrops, early sterling Trifari, 1940s designer costume jewelry, moonstone glass jewelry, patent-pending Trifari and important American vintage costume jewelry.
