Vintage NS Meyer Sterling Senior Navigator Wings U.S. Air Force Pilot Observer Combat Systems Officer Badge

Authentic NS Meyer New York Sterling Silver 3-Inch Senior Aircrew Qualification Wings with Original Patina

$149.00

Authentic vintage U.S. Air Force Senior Navigator qualification wings crafted in solid sterling silver by NS Meyer & Co. of New York, one of the premier manufacturers of American military insignia. This full-size badge represents the Senior aircrew rating awarded to experienced navigators and observers and is also recognized by many collectors under the later Combat Systems Officer designation as terminology evolved within the U.S. Air Force. Official NS Meyer sterling examples remain among the most desirable military aviation insignia for collectors because of their exceptional die work, quality silver construction, and historical significance.

The wings measure approximately 3 inches wide by 1 3/8 inches tall and feature the distinctive raised five-point senior rating star above the central shield. The reverse is clearly marked "NS Meyer New York Sterling," confirming manufacture by one of the best-known American insignia makers. Both original clutch posts remain intact and straight, although the butterfly clutch backs are no longer present. The feather detail remains sharply defined throughout the wings, and the applied center device and star remain secure. The sterling silver has been intentionally left unpolished, preserving the natural patina and honest age acquired through decades of careful preservation. Minor surface wear is consistent with authentic vintage military insignia and does not detract from the outstanding overall presentation.

Original NS Meyer sterling senior aircrew wings continue to be highly sought after by collectors of U.S. Air Force memorabilia, Cold War military insignia, aviation history, and sterling silver military badges. Their combination of historic importance, premium manufacture, and classic American military design makes them equally appropriate for advanced collections, display cases, or aviation-themed exhibits.
