Experience the breathtaking beauty of the Colorado Rockies through this exceptional antique large-format photogravure portfolio, "Views of Estes–Rocky Mountain National Park," published and copyrighted by renowned Estes Park photographer F. P. Clatworthy. Printed by The Albertype Company of Brooklyn, New York, this impressive presentation portfolio showcases twelve richly detailed photogravure images capturing many of the region's most celebrated landmarks, including Longs Peak, Bear Lake, Odessa Lake, Estes Park, Fall River Road, and other spectacular mountain landscapes recorded during the golden age of American automobile tourism. Unlike the far more common postcard folders of the period, this substantial portfolio measures approximately 10 1/8 inches by 8 1/8 inches and was produced as an elegant presentation piece on heavy art paper with intentionally deckled fore-edges, a premium finishing technique that imitates handmade paper and reflects the quality expected of fine photogravure publications. The original green cord binding with decorative tassels remains intact, completing its distinguished presentation.

This portfolio comes from my paternal great-grandmother's travels through the American West and has remained in our family together with its original mailing envelope, preserving both the souvenir and its history. The accompanying original envelope is an increasingly scarce survivor that enhances both authenticity and collector appeal.

Condition is very good overall. The twelve original photogravure plates remain clean with excellent tonal richness and strong contrast, displaying the exceptional printing quality for which Albertype publications are known. The cover shows a few very small stains near the upper edge and on one area of the spine together with light handling wear consistent with careful preservation over many decades. The original green cord binding remains secure, and the intentionally deckled page edges are fully intact. One interior page contains two tiny dark inclusions that appear to be original paper impurities from manufacture rather than later damage. The original mailing envelope exhibits expected age toning, creasing, edge wear, and small tears accumulated through decades of storage while remaining an important and seldom-preserved companion to the portfolio.

Original F. P. Clatworthy publications are highly sought after by collectors of Rocky Mountain National Park memorabilia, Colorado history, Western Americana, early landscape photography, National Park ephemera, and fine photogravure printing. Large-format portfolios complete with all twelve original photogravure views, the decorative cord binding, and the original mailing envelope are increasingly difficult to locate, making this an exceptional opportunity to acquire a scarce and beautifully preserved piece of early Colorado tourism and photographic history with documented family provenance.
