$39.95
A wonderful survivor from the golden age of American rail travel and health resorts, this antique ruby-stained souvenir mug commemorates Hot Springs, Arkansas, one of the nation's most celebrated spa destinations during the early twentieth century. Produced in Duncan's attractive Button Arches pattern, the mug combines brilliant ruby staining with crisp Early American Pattern Glass molding before being professionally wheel-engraved and highlighted in gold with its original souvenir inscription, "Hot Springs Ark. 1905."
The handsome pressed pattern features a band of pointed arches with oval button motifs rising above a brilliant radiating starburst base, while the applied clear handle provides a pleasing contrast against the rich ruby stain. Souvenir mugs of this quality were sold to visitors returning home by rail, making each surviving example both a decorative piece of antique glass and an authentic reminder of America's flourishing tourism era before the automobile became dominant.
Measuring approximately 3 inches tall, this antique souvenir mug remains in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or flea bites observed. The ruby staining remains bright, the molded pattern is crisp, and the original gold inscription continues to display well for a piece that has preserved more than a century of travel history. An outstanding addition for collectors of Early American Pattern Glass, ruby-stained souvenir glass, Arkansas memorabilia, Hot Springs history, or Victorian travel souvenirs.
