Antique IOOF Odd Fellows Athelstan Lodge No. 662 Member Badge McLilley Columbus Ohio

Three-part fraternal lodge badge with colorful Friendship Love Truth medallion.

$97.00

Historic Independent Order of Odd Fellows lodge badge manufactured by McLilley & Co. of Columbus, Ohio, one of America's best-known makers of fraternal regalia. This impressive three-piece member badge represents the traditions of the IOOF, whose enduring principles of Friendship, Love, and Truth are beautifully illustrated in the colorful lower medallion featuring the symbolic eye above the familiar Triple Links. The upper panel identifies Athelstan Lodge No. 662, suspended by two original chains above a red "MEMBER" connector and the ornate lower emblem, creating an attractive layered presentation with excellent visual depth.

The badge retains its original antique patina, crisp die-struck ornamentation, and vibrant printed center medallion, which remains unusually colorful for its age. The reverse is marked "The McLilley & Co., Columbus, O." confirming manufacture by the respected Ohio firm that supplied insignia to numerous American fraternal organizations during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The original pin assembly remains present on the reverse. As commonly encountered with surviving examples, the original ribbon is no longer present. One of the two ribbon support hooks remains intact while the opposite hook is missing, a condition reflected in the price but one that does not diminish the badge's strong display appeal.

Weighing approximately 69 grams, this substantial antique badge offers an impressive presence for collectors of Odd Fellows memorabilia, fraternal organizations, Americana, Iowa lodge history, McLilley insignia, or antique lodge regalia. It remains an authentic survivor from one of America's most influential fraternal organizations and displays beautifully whether added to a collection or exhibited alongside other historical lodge artifacts.
